Are your cakes made from scratch?
Yes! I am a qualified Chef so I pride myself on the techniques, ingredients, quality and flavour. When baking I only use the best ingredients available to ensure the customer has a quality product. This takes a little longer than your quick throw together packet mix so this then reflects in my pricing too.
How far in advance should I order?
The more notice the better! At least 3-4 weeks in advance. I do occasionally have the capacity to take on last minute orders depending on cake size and design style, so you are always welcome to try your luck! If there is no availability left on the day required, we can share the love and refer you to some other great cake makers in the area.
Do you deliver?
Delivery can be arranged just let us know in the initial quote form and we can arrange a suitable delivery time. Alternatively, orders can be picked up from eli & sun HQ within our pickup hours. Please ensure to pick up your order in the agreed time frame as we often have other duties/deliveries to fulfil. Be on time and don’t leave us hanging!
Do you make vegan and/or allergen friendly cakes?
We currently do not offer gluten free cakes although we have a select range that can be altered to meet your allergy needs. We take allergies very seriously but please note that there is always a chance of cross contamination in the kitchen. We ensure to the best of our ability that this does not happen although we work with other ingredients that contain milk, eggs, soy, gluten, wheat, peanuts, and tree nuts for other orders. If you have an allergy, please let us know on your order form.
Can I add decorations to a plain cake you make?
We do not provide undecorated cakes for you to finish (eg. with your own flowers, toppers etc). We can contact the florist working your special event and ensure the same flowers are placed on your cake ready for pickup/delivery. You may think “I can get a cheaper cake topper myself” and that may be true, although you have come to eli & sun for not only a cake but for the design process as well. We recommend you let us organise a cake topper to suit your cake style. Cake toppers, flowers etc are an important part in the design which then impacts the end result. We want to provide you with a polished finished cake before leaving the eli & sun HQ. Many of our decorations are made or sourced from small local businesses too so let’s support them!
Can you copy this cake I found a photo of?
When you enquire for a order we recommend you send any inspiration photos you may have. We encourage this as it gives us an idea to the elements you like so we have a better understanding of yourself and the vibe of your event! Due to the nature of the cake decorating process we cannot copy any photos, but we will put our own eli & sun twist on it.
